July 1919 - June 1930. 2,450 pages.
The monthly magazine published by W.H. Bates, M.D., with his assistant Emily Lierman (later Emily Bates). This magazine, delivered to subscribers from New York to California for a span of eleven years, played a large part in the spread of the Bates method in the 1920s.
Bits and pieces of these magazines can be found here and there, but the entire unedited collection has been quite difficult to get a hold of by any means, until now. These volumes contain a great deal of information not found anywhere else, and anyone learning the Bates method to improve vision would do well to obtain and read this large collection.
Included in the issues are:
- Articles by Dr. Bates, describing many techniques and aspects of treatment that are not included in his book or other articles
- Emily Lierman's "Stories from the Clinic", in which she describes the cases of patients she worked with at Dr. Bates's free clinic, including those suffering from diseases of the eye, and even the partial restoration of sight in cases of complete blindness
- Articles by other doctors who have had success in applying the Bates method with their patients
- Success stories from patients and school teachers
- Letters from people establishing clinics and schools overseas where the Bates method is being taught
- Fantasy short stories by George M. Guild written to inspire the imagination and teach the principles of the Bates method in playful ways, useful for children as well as adults.
- Reports on the Better Eyesight League, formed by Bates method enthusiasts
- Even criticisms of Dr. Bates's methods by his peers!

A heavily edited version of this collection, published in book form, is in print and widely available. This version is completely UNEDITED. After I finally completed my collection of the original magazines, I compared it with the edited version with the intent of meticulously counting all of the edits and ommissions. I found the changes to be so widespread that it wasn't feasible to note every change, but I did notice that the edited version has frequent changes in wording and omissions of entire articles. This lower-priced edited version is available in the regular Books category.
